Our Competitive Gymnastics Programs

At All American Gymnastic & Dance Academy, we offer two competitive tracks designed to meet athletes where they are and help them grow. Our programs are built to challenge, inspire, and elevate every gymnast—whether your child thrives in a flexible environment or is ready for a more structured, high-level competitive path.

🏆 Development Program (DP)

Traditional competitive track following USA Gymnastics guidelines

Strong emphasis on strength, technique, and progression through Levels 2–10

Higher training commitment with multiple practices per week

Designed for athletes who are highly motivated and looking for a more intensive, competitive experience

Xcel Program

Flexible competitive track designed for a healthy balance between gymnastics and other activities

Focus on skill development, confidence, and creativity in routines

Athletes compete locally with opportunities to progress through Bronze–Sapphire levels

Ideal for gymnasts who love the sport and want to compete without the full-time commitment

How to Join Team

Ready to take the next step? Here’s how athletes become part of Team AAGDA:

Joining our competitive team is an exciting next step for athletes who are ready for more challenge, commitment, and growth.

  • Evaluation required – All athletes are evaluated to ensure proper placement based on skill level, strength, and readiness
  • Coach recommendation or tryout – Current AAGDA athletes may be invited to team, or new athletes can request an evaluation
  • Personalized placement – We place each gymnast in the program (Xcel or DP) and level that best supports their success
  • Clear next steps – After evaluation, our team will guide you through schedule options, expectations, and enrollment

👉 Not sure if your child is ready? We’re happy to evaluate and guide you—no pressure!

Training Commitment

Training schedules vary by level. Here’s a general breakdown:

Level 2-5 Compulsories

Everyone competes the same routines, judged against a standard. The purpose is to strengthen weaknesses.

Level 2 – 2 days a week, 3 hours each practice

Levels 3, 4 & 5 – 3 to 4 days a week, 4 hours each practice

Level 6-10 Optionals

Their competitive routines have specific requirements that must be met, but allow for more self-expression. They are judged on composition and execution. The purpose is to emphasize on strengths, while working on weaknesses.

Level 6 & 7 – 4 to 5 days a week, 3-4 hours each practice

Level 8, 9, & 10 – 5 days a week, 3-4 hours each practice

Bronze & Silver

The beginning/intermediate divisions within the Xcel program, where athletes start to compete in front of a panel of judges. In each division the athletes compete the same routines, inclusive of basic skills such as handstands, cartwheels, round offs, back handsprings.

Bronze – 2 days a week, 3 hours each practice

Silver – 3 days a week, 3-4 hours each practice

Gold, Platinum, Diamond & Sapphire

The more advanced divisions in Xcel that allow for a higher level of skill difficulty. Athletes put a larger emphasis on their strength development. These athletes compete individualized routines where they can showcase their strengths.

Gold & Platinum – 3 days a week, 4 hours each practice

Diamond & Sapphire – 4 days a week, 3-4 hours each practice
